PI-RATES : ROBOTS OF THE FORGOTTEN SEAS

My dissertation project

A huge project that built upon the work I did on the scourge while taking some inspiration from star citizen but on the high seas!

​

It allowed for a player to hire crew members and upgrade for their ship, as well as plunder others.

​

There was a faction system which caused the AI to start skirmishing between themselves, players could be openly hostile as well to attack weaker trade ships but with repercussions such as causing powerful normally allied ships to hunt you down and sink you.

​

It was also designed with a split economy where ground combat and naval combat paid out different currencies and items so you could focus on one and then convert them to the other type at a reduced rate.

​

While away from your ship it could also be attacked and your crew would do their best to defend it but you would be provided with an emergency warp back to help.
